MISSION & VISION

There are six values that are derived from our Mission / Vision statement that have become part of our DNA as a church. Each value we see in Scripture and as a characteristic of a follower of Jesus Christ…

LOVE GOD

"And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind and with ALL your strength.”

Therefore at Radiant Church we are:

ALL-IN

Faith in Jesus Christ is all-consuming. We will not withhold any area of our life from God’s control. We willingly, humbly, and joyfully submit and surrender to him as the King of our life. 

OBEDIENT

Jesus said in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” It is only after we have surrendered to God as King that we will love him by obeying his commands. Therefore at Radiant Church we seek to love God by being obedient to his commands.

FOLLOW JESUS

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?"

RISK

At Radiant Church we seek to be faith-filled, big thinking, bet-it-all, risk takers in our pursuit of Christ because following him demands radical obedience. 

TRUTH

Jesus said in John 14:7, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” It is our desire to faithfully challenge ourselves with his truth, preach his truth in love, and live out his truth in our lives.

ILLUMINATE DARKNESS

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”

At Radiant Church we are: 

CHRIST-CENTERED

God is light, Jesus was the light that came to Earth, and belief in the gospel is what turns the light on inside of us allowing us to be the light of Christ to the world. Everything we do at Radiant Church has the gospel at its core, for it is the power of God for salvation to all who believe. There is no plan “b”.

MISSION-FOCUSED

Jesus came to the earth to bring glory to his Father by seeking and saving the lost, making disciples, and building his church to do the same. Therefore, at Radiant Church we are committed to Christ's mission: Making disciples / Equipping Leaders / Advancing the Kingdom. Practically, we seek out those who do not know Jesus, we share the gospel, and we serve the world!

Distinctives are characteristics of something that distinguish or set it apart from others. As followers of Jesus we have things that set us apart from the rest of the world, but as individuals we have things that distinguish us from each other. Just as God made each of us unique with different characteristics and passions, churches are made up of different people with different characteristics and passions.

Every Christ-following church has a set of beliefs and mission-critical objectives that unite them. But every church is a part of the larger body of Christ: doing its part, working together to expand the kingdom of heaven.

So what are Radiant Church's distinctives?

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God from Genesis to Revelation.

2. We believe that there is one God, creator of all, eternally existent in trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ sent by God for the salvation of man. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of God, and His personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who dwells in us as Christians enabling us to live a godly life, become a new creation, and have a spirit of power.

5. We believe that man is created in the image of God, but fallen in sin. Therefore, salvation is necessary for lost and sinful humanity. Faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a right relationship with God through confession, repentance, and forgiveness.

6. We believe in eternal life: For the saved, eternity with Christ in heaven; For the unsaved, eternity separated from Christ in hell.

7. We believe God calls us to be His Church: to accept the cost and joy of discipleship, to faithfully serve Him and others, and to proclaim the gospel to all the world.

8. We believe in the practice of water baptism and the partaking of Communion. Neither of these practices are essential for salvation, but in obedience they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.
